Finishing up a week-long trip down the coast of California, I am excited to share one of my favorite (and most beautiful) dining experiences of the journey. Walking through Santa Monica, California you cannot miss the hot pink blossoms covering the awning and entrance to one of LA’s best beach dining destinations – IVY at the Shore.
As you enter through the draping pink florals, you immediately feel welcomed by a cheerful California ambiance – stunning roses displayed in clay pitchers, bowls of lemons, a bustling bar scene and a hostess handing you a glass of cold bubbly. Opting to have a late lunch, we arrived at around 2:30 pm and had no trouble landing the perfect table for two on the patio adjacent to Ocean Avenue.
With so many delicious items to choose from, we went with the chef recommendations including a plate of fresh oysters, zucchini blossoms stuffed with goat cheese, tuna tartare and a house-made lobster pizza. The people watching from the patio is great and because this dining hotspot is a favorite of Hollywood celebs, you may even spot one of your favorite movie stars. As much as there is to do in Los Angeles, a trip to Santa Monica is a must. Put IVY at the Shore on your dining list and you will not be disappointed.
