Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! With Thanksgiving behind us and December finally here, it’s time to pull out the sparkly ornaments, hang wreaths, trim trees and deck the halls, y’all. Yes, tis’ the most wonderful time of the year. The time when everyone seems to be a bit kinder (even the angry New Yorkers). The one month where it is reasonable to play Mariah Carey classics on repeat in the office. And of course, the time of year we all pack on a few extra pounds and just blame it on the holidays. If you are not yet in the Christmas spirit, well the images in this post will hopefully do the trick.
Of all my world travels, my two favorite cities always remain Manhattan and Charleston. As a little girl, I grew up visiting Charleston regularly and fell in love with the southern charm, welcoming porches, and character of this special town. Being such an easy trip from my hometown of New York City, I frequent the streets of Charleston, South Carolina as often as possible, dreaming to someday call both cities home. During a recent visit I was delighted to see that the city had been quickly transformed for the holiday season. From glimpses inside historic homes with fireplaces adorned by garland, to the decorative wreaths hung on each colorful door I passed to the sounds of carolers singing on the streets, I was overjoyed with cheer. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas down in Charleston! This season on Ladyhattan, I look forward to sharing some holiday travel tips, as well as a full recap of the famed European Christmas Markets that I will be visiting at the end of the month with Amawaterways. Until then, hang your mistletoe and soak in the most joyful time of the year.
