As a New Yorker, I have always been fascinated by the city of Hong Kong. Why you ask? Because I really do believe it is the only city in the world that even comes close to the energy, bustle and corporate hustle that my hometown of New York City exudes.
With endless name-brand hotel options to choose from, it’s undeniable that the Four Seasons Hong Kong takes first place against its close competitors.
After a 20 hour direct flight, it’s only fair that a lady rest at the best in town, right? So let’s take an inside peek and see what the Four Seasons Hong Kong has to offer its guests. Here I’ll be sharing my personal highlights during a recent stay with the Four Seasons along with key travel tips for your next trip to Hong Kong listed below. Now where shall we start, ladies? Since I have a tendency for choosing hotels based on the most luxurious views and pools, let’s start with just that – the pool.
A Pool with Sweeping City Views
The hotel pools provide a calm oasis, away from the bustling energy of the city. Enjoy a leisurely swim in the free-form infinity-edge pool, exercise in the lap pool and then take a cool dip in the chilled plunge pool – or do as a lady does best: grab the martini and head for the super hot whirlpools where you can take in the breathtaking harbor views. Heated year round, the infinity-edge pool and lap pool are equipped with speakers so us ladies can enjoy music underwater. They will even play Taylor Swift tunes if you dare to ask. Seriously.
A variety of drinks and light snacks are served on the open-air Pool Terrace, creating a “resort-like” setting in the midst of one of the most fast-paced cities in the world. The vacation friendly atmosphere offered by the pool makes for an incredible escape, especially for those visiting Hong Kong for business. Who wouldn’t want a break from the boardroom that consists of chilling by this perfect pool space?
The Rooms
Here at the Four Seasons you can choose between 399 guest rooms – including 54 luxury suites. Luxury suites offer wall-to-wall windows with captivating vistas of the city, Victoria Harbour, Kowloon and the Peak. All accommodations feature state-of-the-art technology, ample space and luxury bath products by Bvulgari… And yes, all rooms have a Nespresso Machine to conveniently get your caffeine fix for a big day in Asia’s World City!
As for design and decor, rooms and suites vary between sleek Western style, with silk-paneled walls and marble-floored entry foyers, and contemporary Chinese style, with sculpted furnishings, gold leaf and authentic ink paintings. For my stay, I opted for the Grand Harbour-View Suite because I wanted to gaze at the iconic Hong Kong views as much as possible.
Welcomed with a pot of oozy chocolate in a molded chocolate bowl, fresh strawberries, pink macrons and delicious teas, it was pretty easy to fight off the hellish jetlag from the long journey here. For me, the lady highlights of this room include a massive walk-in closet space where complimentary butler services are available to help unpack and organize your travel clutter. High maintenance? Hell yes. When you travel with 5+ bags and 10+ purses, a perk like this is crucial to a pleasant experience. Anther highlight includes the flat-screen TVs conveniently located on the bathroom mirrors, allowing a lady to do her makeup and catch-up on the nightly news, or some Bravo… And yes, those BVLGARI Bath & Body products were a great perk that allow you to bring the sensations of a high-end spa to your very own hotel room.
Good Night and Good Morning
As you can see from the bed photographed above, you won’t have any trouble falling asleep here at the Hong Kong Four Seasons. High above the chaos of a massive urban metropolis, you will enjoy blissful Hong Kong dreams tucked under Egyptian cotton sheets. The best part of waking up at the Four Seasons in Hong Kong, aside from the obvious (the breathtaking views, of course), is the Western/Eastern breakfast buffet that awaits you! Head downstairs and enjoy a beautiful spread of delicious options to satisfy any palate. Featuring Chinese delights like dim sum and noodles, to classic breakfast items such as waffles and eggs, you can pick and choose a breakfast plate glorifying the influx of multiple cultures here in Hong Kong.
Other highlights of this hotel experience include a fitness studio Olympians dream of – equipped with everything you would need to keep your body buff when traveling. Additionally, the spa offers a variety of sensational massage services and seasonal highlights including facial specials with Diamond Touch Microdermabrasion. Oo-la-la.
All in all, from the pool, the beds, the views, the food and the Four Seasons signature service, you can’t go wrong here in Hong Kong. For more specifics on this hotel and a few Hong Kong travel tips, see below.
